Babongo

By | project

I love to see my patterns used in packaging, especially when it’s for a product that’s 100% natural.
Babongo, an online shop for green lifestyle design, commissioned me to design three patterns for their new soap bars and to also take care of the graphic design. I wanted the patterns to be slightly abstract and to hint to the ingredients without depicting them too literally. The graphic design is fresh and flexible, allowing new soap bar varieties to be easily added to the collection.

Jumbo

By | new patterns, project

OD agency invited me to design a comprehensive collection of patterns for Jumbo, one of the largest supermarkets of the Netherlands. The patterns are used on the packaging of ‘Special Moments’ products and premiered just before Sinterklaas and Christmas, with more designs coming soon. The products include the typical Dutch ‘amandelstaaf’ (pastry filled with almond), edible flowers, all types of appetizers and many many more.
The patterns add a festive feel to the packaging while avoiding the cliché style and themes.
At the same time the patterns ensure a coherent and recognizable product group that subtly stands out in between all the other products. It was a fantastic project to work on and a great experience to walk through a supermarket full of my patterns!
A big thank you to OD agency for commissioning me & the smooth collab.

Pop Up Shop! Angkor

By | new patterns, project

Pop Up Shop! Angkor is Cambodia’s cheeky answer to the traditional souvenir shop. The shop asked me to make a mid-century modern inspired illustration of the iconic Angkor Wat temple for their posters, cards and even temporary tattoos. I loved the challenge of ‘translating’ such a beautiful monument (it’s the largest religious monument in the world) into a simple and powerful shape. To complement the collection Pop Up Shop! Angkor asked me to design a pattern with an abstract shape that references the temple for their cushions, bags and aprons which you can view above. Click here for an overview of the project.
